13+ years managing software projects and SQA process

Development and implemented processes for assuring that quality was built into the software development process. Process made extensive use of Unit Testing, Code Walk Through and formal Primarily Design Reviews (PDR) for each new project

Quality Assurance Engineering Architect for in-house developed email client for Excite@Home Broadband internet service. Managed all aspects of project including the creation of both white & black box test case. Due to lack of process control, created a formal (documented) QA process which included the design and implantation of internal web site for each project were ALL project documents (including complete test cases) was published)

Project manager, and software & hardware engineer at Time & Space Processing, for 128 port secure voice and data switch install in Germany for NATO. System used to monitor troop movement in near real time. One system installed (total program worth more then $300,000.00)

Senior Test Engineering & project manager at Verilink, responsible for automating the production line with off the shelf GPIB test equipment and custom designed test fixtures.

Software project manager & primary software engineer at Trimble Navigation, for then smallest waterproof military GPS receiver. The MUGR (miniature underwater GPS receiver) was built for the Navy Seals. Currently 150 units fielded at $5000.00 ea. (total program worth more then $1,000,000.00)

Primary software engineer at Spectra-Physics LDS, for $150,000.00 per machine computer disk drive manufactures Laser Zone texturing machine. Designed and wrote the Visual Basic User interface (GUI). Currently 30 units fielded. Fully documented project and conducted extensive white and black box testing to customers requirements

Software project manager & primary software engineer at Stanford Telecom, for major enhancement to Satellite control system to be used in controlling the next generation of GPS satellites. (total program worth more then $10,000,000.00). Fully documented project and conducted extensive white and black box testing to customers requirements

Designed and delivered first version of function test software to then state of the art digital hearing aids in less then six months. Continue to improve on original design for another six months until final release. Which has been in the field for more then one year. Previous to this ‘final’ release, group was in patch and debug cycle for almost one year

Took over project for final test system and in thirty days first release was in field. Previous project manager had not been trying to get the system in the field for six months. Two more release followed and now the main customer will sign off on changes based on our test report. This was unheard of in the past due to complete lack of confidence on the process used before I took over as the Test Systems Software & SQA manager
